Love Nottingham publishes a mixture of original editorial material, factual place information, content supplied by users and content licensed from third parties. This policy explains what contributors may submit and how to report material that you believe infringes your intellectual property or other legal rights.
1. Who owns what
A contributor generally retains copyright in original photographs, written reviews, articles, answers and other creative work they own. The Site's software, design, branding, original editorial contributions and curated databases may be protected by rights held by Love Derby Limited or its licensors. Facts such as a place name, address or opening hours are not owned merely because someone submitted them.
Uploading a photo, creating a listing or claiming a business does not give you ownership of our place page, permalink, other users' reviews or site-wide compilation.
2. Permission to publish submitted material
When you submit original content, the licence described in our Terms of Service allows us to host, publish, adapt formats and share that material for operating and promoting the Site. You must have the necessary rights to make that grant, including any necessary photographer, publisher or other permissions. Do not use images from search results, other guides or social media simply because they are publicly visible.
3. Report alleged infringement
Contact [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright report" and include: your name and a reliable contact method; the URL of the content on Love Nottingham; identification of the original protected work and evidence that you own or represent the rights; an explanation of the claimed infringement; and what remedy you seek. Please state whether you are the rights holder or authorised agent.
You do not need to send more personal information than is necessary. We may ask for clarification. Knowingly false reports can cause harm and may have legal consequences.
4. What we do with reports
We review reports in context and may temporarily restrict access while assessing them. Where appropriate we may remove or replace material, seek a contributor's explanation, decline an unsupported claim, or restrict repeat infringers. We may pass the substance of a claim to the contributor to allow a response, taking account of privacy and safety concerns. We will not automatically accept every takedown demand without assessment.
If your own content has been removed, contact [email protected] explaining why you believe you have the right to publish it and provide any relevant licence, authorship or permission details. We will reconsider the decision where appropriate.
5. Other rights and urgent concerns
For concerns involving privacy, impersonation, defamation, child safety or unlawful material, report the URL and issue through [email protected]. Do not use a copyright complaint to seek removal of a genuine negative review merely because you disagree with it. You can also use the reporting and complaints processes described in our Review & Moderation Policy.
6. Using material from Love Nottingham
You may link to public pages and share content using built-in sharing features. Do not systematically scrape, reproduce, republish or sell substantial content or our branding without permission or an applicable legal exception. To licence material for another purpose, contact [email protected]. Rights in user content may require permission from the original contributor as well as from us.
Policy effective 26 October 2026.
