From 1 December to 5 January, families can step into Mog’s world with Mog’s Christmas Trail – a free, festive experience inspired by Judith Kerr’s much-loved classic, Mog’s Christmas, and available exclusively at Victoria Centre.
Follow Mog’s Christmas Trail
Trail maps are free to collect from the Parliament Street entrance, by Urban Outfitters. With map in hand, children and grown-ups can follow Mog as she quietly observes the Thomas family getting ready for Christmas.
Along the route, visitors will discover:
-
Handcrafted festive installations
-
Interactive story scenes
-
Charming photo spots inspired by the book
As part of the experience, visitors can also listen to a special audio recording of the story, narrated by Judith Kerr’s daughter, created especially for this event.
Complete the trail by collecting all the stamps and cracking the secret festive word to be entered into a Christmas prize draw, with the chance to win Official Mog merchandise and other festive treats.
Live storytelling & big-screen Mog
From 19 December, Mog’s iconic Christmas story will be brought to life with live storytelling sessions. These free performances will take place at 11am, 12pm, 1pm and 2pm on selected dates in South Square, next to Boots, Next and John Lewis.
Families can also catch Mog’s Christmas on the big screen, showing during the centre’s opening hours – a cosy way to pause, relax and enjoy Mog’s heart-warming festive adventure between shops.
All Mog activities are free and do not require booking, making them an easy addition to a Christmas shopping trip.
More festive highlights at Victoria Centre
Alongside Mog’s Christmas Trail, there’s plenty more happening across the centre:
-
Gift Wrap Station – Take the hassle out of wrapping with a gift wrap service in aid of Nottinghamshire Hospice and Nottingham West Lions, running from 13–24 December.
-
Giving Box – Donate a toy to Cash for Kids and help spread a little extra kindness this Christmas.
-
Christmas Choirs – Enjoy performances from local choirs throughout December, filling the centre with festive music.
Nigel Wheatley, Centre Director at Victoria Centre, says the team is delighted to be offering another memorable experience for families this year. Mog’s story, he explains, captures the warmth, humour and occasional chaos of the festive season – and whether visitors are exploring the trail, listening to a live story, or getting gifts wrapped for charity, the aim is to help make this Christmas feel special for everyone.
Shopping, dining and festive treats
After helping Mog find her Christmas spirit, visitors can explore a wide range of shops and brands across Victoria Centre, including John Lewis, JD Sports, MINISO, Office, Pandora, Swarovski, Rituals, Whittard and many more – ideal for ticking off Christmas lists in one place.
There are also plenty of places to eat and drink, with options such as Tortilla, Japami, Thai Express, Starbucks, Birds and others offering everything from quick bites to coffee breaks while you shop.
