Indian street food and tiffin-style dishes in a colourful Nottingham restaurant inspired by the streets of Varanasi.
Mowgli Street Food occupies a distinctive pink-fronted space on Stoney Street in Nottingham. Inside, the restrained, bohemian interior features a grand ornate staircase, hanging ropes and trailing vines, creating an atmosphere inspired by the temples and cobbled streets of Varanasi. There are quieter corners for a solo lunch as well as livelier tables suited to sharing a tiffin feast with friends or family.
The menu focuses on fresh, bright Indian food built around herbs, spices and ginger. Popular dishes include Gunpowder Chicken: chicken marinated with ginger, garlic and garam masala, fried in a light chickpea batter; Mango Lassi made with yoghurt and Kesar mangoes; and Mowgli Paneer, with paneer, sweet spiced tomatoes and garden peas.
The restaurant also offers food and drinks menus, set menus and sharing options, including the Street Feast, The Grand Table and seasonal feasting menus. Its characterful setting is also used for birthdays, office gatherings and other celebrations.
