Love Nottingham · v1

Terms of Service

Effective 31 October 2026

These Terms of Service (the Terms) govern your use of Love Nottingham, available at https://lovenottingham.co.uk (the Site), and related services provided by Love Derby Limited ("we", "us" or "our"). Our registered office is [Registered address not configured] and company number is [Company number not configured]. Contact us at [email protected].

1. About Love Nottingham

Love Nottingham helps people discover locations, attractions, restaurants, pubs, events, businesses and things to do. Depending on the publication, users can contribute places, photos, reviews, questions, answers, comments and itineraries. Eligible business representatives may claim listings and use business tools, including paid promotion or publishing features.

The Site is a discovery and community platform, not the provider of the third-party venues, goods, events or experiences described in listings. The Community Guidelines, Review & Moderation Policy, Copyright & Takedown Policy and, where applicable, the Business Terms and Subscriptions & Refunds Policy form part of the rules for the relevant services.

2. Accounts and eligibility

You must supply accurate registration details, keep your password and access credentials confidential, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account to the extent permitted by law. Do not impersonate another person or business, evade a restriction or create misleading accounts.

If you use the Site on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to act for it. You must meet any minimum-age and other eligibility requirements that we display during registration. We may ask for reasonable verification where needed for security, content authenticity or business claims.

3. Contributions and your rights

You retain any copyright you own in original text, photographs and other material you submit ("Contributions"). By submitting Contributions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, distribute and technically adapt them in connection with operating, maintaining, improving and promoting the Site and related publications, including previews and social promotion. We may make appropriate format, spelling, cropping and accessibility changes that do not materially misrepresent what you intended. This licence permits us to use hosting, delivery and moderation suppliers for those purposes.

You confirm that you own the necessary rights or have permission to submit the material, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge where stated as fact, and that your publication does not violate another person's rights or the law. Do not upload images copied from search engines or other websites unless you have the right to licence them.

Submitting a listing does not make you the owner of the public listing, location record, business identity, geographic facts, ratings, category or associated URL. We decide how public place information is organised and displayed. You may request removal of Contributions through the tools provided or by contacting us. We will assess those requests against other users' rights, lawful grounds for retaining material, and the need to maintain coherent public discussions. Deleting an account does not automatically erase all lawfully retained or anonymised shared content; our Privacy Policy explains personal-data rights.

4. Reviews and public discussion

Reviews must be based on genuine experiences. Do not post fabricated, purchased, misleading or undisclosed incentivised reviews, or review a business where your connection creates an undisclosed conflict. You must comply with our Review & Moderation Policy. We may check, decline, remove or correct presentation of content consistently with that policy. A negative opinion is not in itself a reason for removal.

Reviews and user opinions belong to their authors and do not necessarily represent our views. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or identity of every contributor or independently verify every visit.

5. Acceptable use and moderation

You must not use the Site for unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, threatening, sexually exploitative, fraudulent or deceptive activity; to infringe intellectual property; to disclose private information without proper authority; or to spam, scrape, overwhelm or interfere with the Site. Automated collection or republishing at scale requires our prior written permission, except where applicable law expressly permits it.

All submissions are subject to editorial review. We are not obliged to publish every place, review, photo, article, event, comment or other submission. We may decline to publish, unpublish, hide or remove material that is offensive, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, misleading, unlawful, of insufficient quality, irrelevant, duplicative or otherwise unsuitable for the particular publication. We may ask for clarification, correct non-substantive formatting, or restrict particular features. We exercise editorial judgement consistently with applicable law and our Review & Moderation Policy; honest negative reviews are not refused simply because a business dislikes them, and paid promotion does not confer editorial immunity.

We may warn, temporarily suspend or permanently ban accounts for offensive or otherwise prohibited posts, including serious single incidents, harassment, hate speech, repeated abuse or deliberate manipulation. We will consider the seriousness, context and frequency of behaviour and give notifications or complaint/appeal options where required. We may act without advance notice for serious safety or legal risks. Ending access does not remove any non-excludable rights or automatically justify retaining payment for a contracted service that was not supplied. Reports can be sent to [email protected] with the relevant URL and an explanation.

6. Business listings, claims and paid services

A business may have a public listing without having created an account, claimed it or paid us. Claiming a listing requires authority and verification; it does not give a business ownership of third-party reviews or unrestricted control of the listing. Paid placements and promotional features are governed by our Business Terms and Subscriptions & Refunds Policy and are identified as advertising or promotion where required. Payment does not buy favourable editorial treatment or the removal of genuine reviews.

Prices, included features, payment schedules and applicable taxes will be shown before purchase. A recurring subscription continues until cancelled, and cancellation ordinarily prevents the next renewal while leaving paid features available until the current term expires. We ordinarily do not refund an elapsed or already-commenced subscription term merely because the subscriber forgot to cancel; legal refund rights and errors are exceptions. Details are in our Subscriptions & Refunds Policy. We do not guarantee rankings, enquiries, traffic, bookings or sales.

7. Third-party information and safety

Opening hours, prices, accessibility, dietary information, events, travel arrangements, booking availability and other place details can change. Check critical information directly with the venue or provider before travelling, paying or relying on it. Information on the Site is general guidance, not professional safety, medical, legal or financial advice. You remain responsible for your own decisions and taking appropriate precautions.

Links to external websites, mapping services, booking providers and advertisers lead to services that we do not control. Their own terms and privacy notices may apply. If a purchase or reservation is made with a third party, that third party is ordinarily responsible for its supply and contractual obligations unless we expressly say otherwise.

8. Our intellectual property

Our site design, branding, software, compilations and original editorial material belong to us or our licensors, subject to existing third-party and contributor rights. You may use the Site for its intended purposes but may not copy or resell substantial parts of our content or misuse our trademarks without permission.

9. Availability and changes

We aim to maintain a reliable service, but features may be changed, paused or removed for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where appropriate, particularly where paid entitlements are affected. Material amendments to these Terms will be identified by a new version and communicated where required; we may ask you to accept them again. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you have already acquired.

10. Liability and statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing affects mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.

Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate third-party listings, independent venue providers, matters beyond our reasonable control or uses of the Site outside its intended purpose. If you use paid business services, additional proportionate liability provisions may appear in the Business Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and rights to bring proceedings in another jurisdiction that apply to you. Please contact [email protected] first if you have a complaint so that we can try to resolve it promptly. Nothing prevents you from using regulatory or court remedies available by law.
